Proposed Modifications to Programme of Work of SC 2

1. Transfer of ISO/TC 46/SC 4 Character Code Standards to JTC 1/SC 2

In accordance with ISO TMB Resolution 83/1995, JTC 1/SC 2 has been recognized as having the sole responsibility for standardization in the field of character sets. Based on this resolution, SC 2 had discussion with ISO/TC 46/SC 4. At the meetings held in Paris, 1999-05 and in Berlin, 2000-05, transfer of the following eight standards were agreed by TC 46/SC 4 and endorsed by TC 46.

SC 2 seeks the JTC 1's endorsement to add these standards to the Programme of Work of SC 2.
