L2/07-180 SC22 N4205 - Canadian Contribution to the 25-28 September 2007 JTC 1/ SC 22 Plenary on the Transfer of ISO/IEC TR 14652. Currently this TR resides in the INCITS L2 programme of work. L2 needs to review document SC22 N4205 and decide whether or not they wish to retain this TR. L2's recommendation will be sent to the CT22 Chairman for discussion at the August 2007 CT22 meeting, in preparation for the SC22 Plenary in September 2007. August 1, 2007 2/3

Resolved 7:0:1:2 to recommend that L2 retain ISO/IEC TR 14652 on its program of work.

In view of the fact that L2 has reviewed this Technical Report extensively in the past, it is appropriate that any future revision also be reviewed by L2.

L2 would also like to point out an error in the SC35 resolution quoted in document SC22 N4205. ISO/IEC TR 14652 is not an “International Standard”; it is a Type 1 Technical Report, as “the required support [could not] be obtained for the publication of an International Standard, despite repeated effort.”

The L2 chair will inform the IRG Rapporteur that Mr. John Jenkins will most likely not attend the IRG #28 meeting, and that Mr. Richard Cook, if he attends, will do so as an expert invited by L2.

6.3 Delegates to SC2 #15, OWG-SORT #6 and WG2 #51 meetings.

SC2 meeting #15, OWG-SORT meeting #6 and WG2 meeting #51 will be held in Hangzhou, China, on September 17-21, 2007. No call for participation has been issued at this time.

Delegation: Michel Suignard (HoD), Ken Whistler, Peter Constable, Mike Ksar, Mark Davis. Invited experts: Deborah Anderson, University of California at Berkeley and SEI.
