Now that IDNA2008 has been issued, we need to decide what changes we
want in UTS46. I think there are three main issues (others may have
more).
My recommendations at this point are to:
1. Strongly recommend the use of the mapping.
2. Recommend supporting symbols (characters that are not mapped and
not allowed by IDNA2008) as a transitional phase; that is, once most
of the major registries have remove registrations containing them,
that browsers and other clients should drop support.
3. Carefully review the discussions on the deviation characters
(sharp-s, etc) that went on the the IDNA2008 working group to see if
supporting them is feasible, and how and when.
