This accelerated letter ballot covers two items:

- SC2 ballot on Project Subdivision Proposal for ISO/IEC 10646 3rd Edition, document JTC1/SC2 N4144 (available at http://www.itscj.ipsj.or.jp/sc2/open/02n4144.pdf)

- JTC1 ballot on 10646/FDAM 8, Information technology -- Universal Multiple-Octet Coded Character Set (UCS) -- AMENDMENT 8: Additional symbols, Bamum supplement, CJK Unified Ideographs Extension D, and other characters, document JTC1/SC2 N4142 (available at http://www.itscj.ipsj.or.jp/sc2/def/02n4142.zip)

The ballot closes on Wednesday July 28, 2010. Please send your answers to both Lisa and myself.


Some details:

- on N4144: it turns out that while SC2 is only looking for potential commments, INCITS prefers to have an explicit vote

- on N4142: SC2 submitted the document to ITTF on June 8th, but it has not made it yet in the ISO voting system; it could appears tomorrow morning, and in part because this is a JTC1 level ballot, involving the INCITS EB, we need to answer before our next meeting.
