Description (last modified by pedberg) (diff)

Currently we have the following <languagePopulation> data for "yue" (Cantonese) in supplementalData <territoryInfo>:

  <territory type="CN" gdp="21270000000000" literacyPercent="95.1" population="1373540000">
    <languagePopulation type="yue" populationPercent="5.2" references="R1219"/>
  <territory type="HK" gdp="427400000000" literacyPercent="93.5" population="7167400">
    <languagePopulation type="yue" populationPercent="90" references="R1320"/>

I think the entry under "CN" should probably specify "yue_Hans", not just "yue" (or we may need to split the entry "yue" into two, one for yue_Hans and one for yue_Hant),

That will likely mean that yue_Hans shows as having more users than yue_Hant. We should probably at least review the current likelySubtags mapping of yue to yue_Hant (and the default locale contents, etc.), though we may decide it is too disruptive to change it.

Replying to mark:

Change yue in CN to be yue_Hans. Add writingPercent=5%

Ah yes, adding the writingPercent solves a lot of problems!
