Translation of time zone name "Mountain Time" in pt-PT

Reported by: vichang@… Owned by: mark
Component: timezone Data Locale: pt-PT
Phase: dsub Review: meikeh
Weeks: Data Xpath: //ldml/dates/timeZoneNames/zone[@type="America_Mountain"]/generic

According to our linguist, "Hora de Montanha" is wrong pt-PT. The time zone should either have no generic name or use "Hora da Montanha"

I think the Xpath is ldml/dates/timeZoneNames/zone[@type="America_Mountain"]/generic

<metazone type="America_Mountain">
        <generic>Hora de Montanha</generic>

Indeed. Please note that "Hora de Montanha" is very generic and doesn't mean much to your average PT speaker. "Hora da Montanha" is grammatically more accurate, but still a bit difficult to understand. The best possible translation would be "Fuso horário MST" (lit. "MST timezone"). Thanks

Does MST in "MST timezone" mean "Mountain Standard Time"?
I think "Mountain Standard Time" and "Mountain Time" have different meanings in my understanding in English.

Do you think "Hora da Montanha" is still better than "Hora de Montanha"? Looks like the opinion from our native speakers think "Hora da Montanha" is acceptable.

There is no significant difference in U.S. English between "Mountain Standard Time" and "Mountain Time," except that the former specifies "Standard" time (as opposed to "Daylight" time) and the latter does not. They are the same zone (which I live in).

According to our Google linguist, it seems that "Hora da Montanha" is still better than "Hora de Montanha"? "grammatically speaking but both "de Montanha" and "da Montanha" are not the best solutions in terms of readability.
Ideally, this would always read "Fuso horário MST" because "MST" works internationally and would render the string/sentence clear to anyone reading it.
