Add plural syntax for lists

Description (last modified by mark) (diff)

Some rules are very painful to specify because there are many cases. Doug suggested adding a list syntax like the following:

n in 3, 4, 9, 23, 24, 29, 33, 34, 39, 43, 44, 49, 53, 54, 59, 63, 64, 69, 83, 84, 89

That would make the rules much simpler, and I propose adding it.

The doc change would be:

  • in_relation = expr ('not')? 'in' list
  • within_relation = expr ('not')? 'within' list
  • list = (range | value) (',' (range | value))*

Note that as before, "n within 3..5, 9" would mean:

(3 <= n && n <= 5)
(n == 9)

while n in 3..5, 9 would mean

isInteger(n) && n within 3..5, 9
