History of Unicode® Conferences and Workshops
The Internationalization and
Unicode Conferences started as a series of workshops in San José and
elsewhere, held at member company locations. As they became larger and
were held more regularly, the workshops turned into conferences professionally organized under
license from the Unicode Consortium. Since 2006, they have
been organized by Object Management Group (OMG).

Prior to IUC # 29, Global Meeting Services (GMS) organized the
Internationalization and Unicode Conferences under license from the
Consortium. Papers presented at those conferences carried joint
copyright by the authors and GMS, and many were published in bound
conference proceedings. Inquiries regarding past Internationalization and
