This chart shows when each emoji first appeared in Unicode. It includes both emoji characters and sequences. The detailed Counts are as described in §3 Which Characters are Emoji. Some emoji before 2015 (and all emoji before 2010) are proleptic (they were only later considered emoji).

While these charts use a particular version of the Unicode Emoji data files, the images and format may be updated at any time. For any production usage, those data files should be consulted. For more information, see Index & Help.
