Building on the success of the Unicode Technology Workshops held from 2023 to 2025 in the heart of Silicon Valley, California, UTW 2026 brings that same spirit of openness, innovation, and in-person collaboration to the heart of Europe’s design and research ecosystem.

Last year, experts, implementers, students, and other i18n enthusiasts gathered for three days of workshops, seminars, free-form discussions, unconference sessions, and lightning talks on topics including i18n libraries, script encoding, locale data frameworks, globalization tooling, localization pipelines, input methods, and text rendering.
