Hi funny‑languages lovers,

I often come to the Unicode standard from time to time, the PDF. I enjoy it, but would enjoy even more the same reference in an XML or HTML or any other markup format. A markup format allows one to easily refer to text fragment, kind of anchors, parts and so on (using XPath as an example), which in turn is handy with internal documentation, ex like when one want to have cross‑references between multiple documents, like the description and analysis of an implementation and a Standard reference document, like the Unicode Standard document is.

Do you know if there exist the same Unicode Standard we have as PDF, in a markup format ? (preferably XML or (x)HTML) ?

With thanks, and wishing you a nice day.

It would help a lot in citing the standard if every heading outside the code charts had a section number.

Please, what did you meant with “heading outside the code charts”?

Just wanted to add that the UAXs are already HTML after‑all, so the Unicode Standard could be as well (but I don't know how it is authored, and there may be technical issues or too much work for the standard maintainers).

I meant headings within the main part of standard, e.g. as at http://www.unicode.org/versions/Unicode6.2.0/ch06.pdf . Section 6.2 extends from p191 to p209. There are low level headings such as 'Use and Interpretation' on p192, and higer level headings such as 'Blocks Devoted to Punctuation' on p193.
