Dirk Meyer is developing CJKV fonts at Adobe Systems' Type Department in San Jose, California. Fortunately, this job includes the opportunity to do research on different aspects of Chinese characters and their implementation in font products. Dirk has been studying at Beijing University from 1985 through 1987, and was involved in CJKV-related computing activities since then. Back in Germany, he has been working in the CJKV pre-press area, prior to that he developed DBCS printing and data-base solutions. Dirk joined Adobe Systems in March 1997. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Chinese studies from The University of Tuebingen, Germany. |
