Documentum is the leading provider of content management solutions, based on our scalable platform that drives eBusiness connections. Documentum has recently re-engineered its entire product line to use UTF-8 Unicode throughout. Documentum's architecture includes an RDBMS layer (several vendors are supported), a core server (running on multiple operating systems), as well as Web Server and Client, plus MS desktop applications. A major challenge was preserving backward compatibility with existing client applications. The talk will focus on Software Engineering lessons learned.
