Cathy Wissink - Microsoft Corporation
Cathy's first foray into the wild world of software globalization was as a
linguist intern on the Windows NT 3.1 team in the summer of 1991, working on Unicode 1.0
implementation and NLS support. Many Windows projects, many interesting diversions and many
years later, she joined Microsoft full-time in 2000 and is now a program manager in the Windows
Desktop Globalization team. She holds an MA and a PhC (Candidate of Philosophy Certificate) from
the University of Washington in Germanic Linguistics, and this June, she will graduate from
Seattle University with a master's degree in Adult Education and Training.
