Khaver Zia - Beaconhouse-Informatics Computer InstituteDr. Khaver Zia was born in Lahore Pakistan in 1953. He received his B. Engg. in Electronics from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore in 1976 and his Ph.D. from the University of Manchester, UK in Control engineering in 1983. Dr. Zia is an honorary member of the Urdu and Regional Languages Software Development Forum (URLSDF), a body working under the aegis of Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Pakistan. He is also an honorary member of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), an advisory body of the Government of Punjab on IT. His interests are in Multilingual Processing and issues related to Computer Education. He is credited with 8 publications on Urdu text processing and character encoding. |
