Thomas Rickner has engaged himself in most aspects of type design and font production. He has edited bitmaps, drawn outlines for new typefaces, and has hinted TrueType outline fonts. His outline design work has included such scripts as Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, and Thaana. He is considered a TrueType hinting specialist, having been asked to hint Matthew Carter's typeface families Tahoma, Verdana, Nina and Georgia, which were commissioned by Microsoft specifically for low resolution environments. Thomas was a member of the TrueType development team at Apple Computer, and was later a freelance designer prior to joining Agfa Monotype in 1994. He now leads the TrueType development team at Agfa Monotype.
