Ken Skuse - BBC World ServiceKen has worked for the BBC World Service since 1976, initially running their first (English only) News computer systems. Coming from a technical background, Ken took on the in-house development of the first multilingual solutions in 1988 and has continued to address the end-users' language needs, identifying issues, and developing solutions, both internally and with third-party suppliers, and managing the integration of language functionality into the BBC's broadcast applications. Today, more people-focused than technology-led, Ken manages the BBC's Ergonomics Unit, which encompasses native language working as part of ensuring that the BBC's computers and systems are safe, comfortable and stress- free to use. |
