Richard Ishida - W3CRichard Ishida works within the W3C Internationalization Activity. This activity has the mission of ensuring universal access to the Web, regardless of language, script or culture, by proposing & coordinating any techniques, conventions, guidelines and activities within the W3C that help to make and keep the Web international. Richard Ishida chairs the W3C Internationalization Working group and is a co- chair of the Internationalization & Unicode Conference. For many years his seminars and consulting have helped product groups around the world develop websites, documents, software, and on-screen information so that it can be easily localized for the international marketplace. His background includes translation and interpretation, computational linguistics, and translation tools. He has studied French, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian, Japanese and Arabic. |

International Unicode Conferences are organized by Global Meeting Services, Inc., (GMS).
GMS is pleased to be able to offer the International Unicode Conferences under an exclusive
license granted by the Unicode Consortium. All responsibility for conference finances and
operations is borne by GMS. The independent conference board serves solely at the pleasure
of GMS and is composed of volunteers active in Unicode and in international software
