Intended Audience: Managers, Software Engineers, Marketers, Technical Writers, Technical Documentation Managers
Session Level: Beginner, Intermediate

The paper will focus on multilingual formatting/publishing using XSL-FO and Unicode. The W3C set the goal of XSL-FO's multilingual support that it should include the use of Unicode and the Unicode bi-directional rules. It should support a number of the special composition features used in Asian and Middle Eastern languages, or at least to make it easy to add them in the future. XSL-FO should also provide support for the multilingual features of modern font technologies, such as OpenType fonts.

Actual implementations will be discussed.
