The schedule designated by the UTC was to try to finalize all the
data files by the middle of August. I anticipate there will be
one more minor rollup of any further fixes that turn up. And at that
point, sometime towards the end of next week or the week after,
we will declare the files final, remove the version numbers, and
"beta" from their names, and update the main UNIDATA directory will
all of the 3.0 files. At that point any implementations that want
the 2.1.9 data files will need to pick them up from the archived
2.1-Update4 directory, as specified on the Versions page at the
Unicode website.

I'll send around a notice when the files are frozen and UNIDATA is
updated.

Note that we are still waiting on completion of one contributory data file,
PropsList.txt, which should be posted soon -- it contains a bunch
of additional informative character properties not covered by
UnicodeData.txt.
