I agree with that too! Unfortunatley, however, they have been doing this
all along. I don't know that we can get them to "unregister" what they
have registered. I think the best we can hope for is eventual migration to
some form of Unicode / ISO-10646 on the wire across the Internet, and so for
the moment our task is to help the IETF come to a sensible decision about how
to do this so we don't have to spend the next thousand years guessing about
the byte order of incoming UTF-16 when we didn't have to.
