Just to signal that the same chapter exists in French (with some additional
annotations and upgraded to Unicode 3.1) :

Also there is a French newsgroup about unicode
news://fr.comp.normes.unicode.

This kind of questions can easily be asked on that forum for those French
speakers more comfortable with French than English.
