Note that while FreeType currently supports the OT font file format and can
render both PS and TT flavoured OT, it does not contain internal support
for OT Layout features. Some members of the FreeType team have built and
tested an Indic shaping engine, but I don't know what the status of this
project is. If you want to contact me off-list, I can put you in touch with
them.
