Dear Sirs,
Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Tarek Atrissi, a Lebanese designer
currently living in New York City- USA where I am having my graduate studies
in Design at the School of Visual Arts.
I have just launched a website about Arabic typography and I figured that
this site might interest you. We are hoping to get your help and
contribution as well in bringing this project to the widest possible

Arabictypography.com is a non-commercial site that was developed as an
academic project at HKU in the Netherlands. It acts as a communication
platform for Arabic designers/typographers and anyone else interested in the
subject. It creates a certain online type association for the Arabic
designer's community. It is a place for getting information, reading
articles, exchanging ideas, displaying and viewing work and getting useful
links and contacts. The site has three main sections: Experimental section,
research section and community section.
The project could not have come at a better time. Never have we needed more
understanding of all aspects of the depth and beauty of Arabic culture,
particularly in a contemporary context like the web. We were hoping that you
will help us- by any means- in the development of this project.
