I thought you might like to know, the Unicode consortium provided a press release this week around their conference strategy this year and the upcoming conference in Sept. See the links appended.
This 5 day conference has plenty of new content and should be both an exciting industry event and a great opportunity to:
1) bring senior i18n staff up to speed on the newest version of the Unicode Standard, which will become tomorrow's competitive internationalization requirement, and
2) train junior staff on the fundamentals of Unicode and internationalization, (see the tutorials!) and,
3) learn about current product i18n capabilities and benefits from the experiences of others (9 case studies!), and
4) participate in the discussion of current issues in the industry.
