Bengali isn't one of the Indic scripts we claim to support in Uniscribe (or elsewhere) yet. So far we support Devanagari, Gurmukhi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Perhaps the Uniscribe version doesn't support Bengali?
I'd thought that version 1.400.xxxx.x that shipped with IE 6 enabled support for several of the Indic scripts including Bengali.
