That's because the web server at developer.apple.com is misconfigured
to send out 'Content-Type: text/plain' HTTP header for the file.
(more exactly, it's NOT configured to treat '.dmg' file differently from
the default 'text/plain'.)

It'd be nice (esp. considering '.dmg' seems to be a freq. used
extension at the server for disk image files) if you(or
someone in charge of the server) could fix it so that it will emit
'Content-Type: application/octet-stream'
instead for 'dmg' files. I know how to do it with Apache, but I don't
know how to do it with Netscape Enterprise server used at
developer.apple.com. (it's also a decendant of NCSA server, but...)
