I really was speaking about the geometric shape range (U+25A0
through U+25FF), not about the box drawing characters
(U+2500..U+257F) and block elements (U+2580..U+259F), which I do
understand better.
Your paper on terminal emulation characters does not go into the
difference between, e.g., U+25C7 and U+25CA, to name an example.
Speaking of that paper, the line at U+23AF is actually a horizontal
ARROW extender, which should connect with the arrows U+2190 and
U+2192. It does not necessarily have the same thickness or vertical
position as the horizontal lines in the box drawings range.
