IIRC the main differences here between the two platforms is that Mac
text engines (including Web browser ones) usually implement font
fallbacks automatically, so that even if there is no *explicit*
effort to find a font that can render a particular character, the
system will find one anyway; and on Mac OS X 10.3 or later, the
system has a font with the Deseret Alphabet in it, even if users have
not had the presence of mind to install Code2001.
