Malayalam fractions
--------------------------------
This is a note about encoding *only* 3
Malayalam fractions (1/4, 1/2, 3/4) in
U+0D73, U+0D74, U+075 locations.
These are just a small subset of the
available fractions in Malayalam
(and Tamil).
Since they are not used in printing of
modern Malayalam script, it will be better
to encode them in a different block
other than the current Malayalam block.
That choice of a different block for
fractions will be useful for both Tamil
and Malayalam because the number of
available fractions exceed the number of spots
available in the Malayalam (and Tamil) code charts.
Hope this request will be given due consideration.
Moreover, for long more than a century, they are
not used in printed books in real examples.
So, why fill up with an incomplete set of fractions?
So, these essentially unused and obscure
fractions' symbols - most of them can be encoded in a different
block. That way, most of fractions in Malayalam
and Tamil will get encoded.
We can write a proposal to have most of all the fractions
of Malayalam and Tamil rather than just a few.
These two language glyphs are generally close to each other.
