The SILConverters utility provides nice integration between Word and the TECkit encoding conversion engine as well as ICU converters.

The other day I had to convert Armenian text written for the fonts Times LatArm (at.ttf) and Arial LatArm (ah.ttf), which use the same encoding. I wrote a macro for Word, which I attach. It seems to be the same mapping as your AST166-8.TXT , but may be of interest.
