Encoding a new letter takes about 2 years! In 2 years the sphere of use of Unicode fonts in Abkhazia will by much wider and shifting to a new code for PE WITH DESCENDER will be painful.
In Abkhaz middle hooks and descenders are glyph variations (hooks are historic, descenders are modern).

GE WITH DESCENDER/MIDDLE HOOK is/was used in Abkhaz for [ɣ]. DESCENDER is used in Yupik and MIDDLE HOOK is used in Yakut.
KA WITH DESCENDER/HOOK is/was used in Abkhaz for [k]. DESCENDER is used in Tajik and HOOK is used in Khanty, Chukchi.
TE WITH DESCENDER/MIDDLE HOOK is/was used in Abkhaz for [t]. MIDDLE HOOK was used in Chuvash.

The case with PE WITH DESCENDER/MIDDLE HOOK is unique because it is/was used only in Abkhaz for [p].
