Happy New Year, Everyone!
I would like to announce the publication of "CJKV Information
Processing" Second Edition. See:
http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596514471/
I received the first two copies on Christmas Eve, and the book is just
now getting into the distribution channels. Robert Bringhurst wrote a
very eloquent three-page Foreword for the book.
Note that the book will also be available in PDF that includes
bookmarks plus an interactive TOC and index (if you click on a TOC
entry, or a page number in the index, you are taken to the appropriate
page). The PDF version should show up as available as soon as the
printed version is reflected as being available (for some reason
O'Reilly's ordering system links them in this way).
In terms of how this book was produced, I typeset the entire thing
myself using Adobe InDesign CS3-J, including building its index using
InDesign's indexing capabilities. (For comparison, I used Adobe
FrameMaker for typesetting the first edition ten years ago.) OpenType
fonts were used extensively, and when specific glyphs were required,
instead of building custom fonts, I implemented them as SING glyphlets.
Regards...
