The Unicode Character Encoding Stability Policies have been updated
with several new policies clarifying stability guarantees for Unicode
character properties and their formal identifiers (called 'aliases').
http://www.unicode.org/policies/stability_policy.html
The new policies include:
Alias Stability, guaranteeing no removals of defined aliases for
Unicode properties or their values. This guarantee is aimed at ensuring
that Unicode-based regular expressions will always retain syntactic validity.

Property Stability, guaranteeing no removals of normative or informative
character properties.

Alias Uniqueness, laying out the rules for non-overlap of identifiers used
for Unicode property and property value aliases.

The Unicode Consortium would also like to announce the availability of a
new Unicode Technical Report: UTR #45, U-source Ideographs. This UTR
describes the U-source ideographs submitted by the Unicode Consortium
as part of the input for use by the Ideographic Rapporteur Group in its
ongoing CJK ideograph unification work.
