To be fair, any other symbol(s) would be *forced* to make a private allocation
to gain use before being considered for Unicode adoption. I don't think it's
all that inappropriate for companies to do the same for temporary/unstored
messages like SMS while waiting for a standard. That's assuming, of course,
that they are in fact using the PUA...
