Proposal:
The Unicode Standard has the principle that if an accent is applied to an i or j, the base character loses its dot. Such characters are called "soft-dotted". If it is desired to retain the dot on a soft-dotted character, an additional combining dot above can be used. The following example shows both situations:
The Unicode Technical Committee proposes to extend the list of characters with the Soft_Dotted property to the include the list below, and would like to get confirmation that this matches the behavior expected by the user communities, in particular that including U+2148, U+2149 and the characters in the range U+1D422 through U+1D693 is compatible with MathML.
