Opt Subject: U+A9B5 (tolong) should be collated right after U+A9B4 (tarung)
U+A9B5 ꦵ JAVANESE VOWEL SIGN TOLONG is being recognized as a glyph variant of U+A9B4 ꦴ JAVANESE VOWEL SIGN TARUNG, in the Core Spec 13.0 and the names list, according to L2/19-003 [1] and 158-A122 [2]. This makes a good case for the DUCET to be updated so U+A9B5 (tolong) is collated next to U+A9B4 (tarung) as a variant (instead of following all other vowel signs), although it’s been 10 years (see note [3]) since U+A9B5 (tolong) was encoded. For reference, these are two similar cases: > 03A5 ; [.2341.0020.0008] # GREEK CAPITAL LETTER UPSILON > 03D2 ; [.2341.0020.000A] # GREEK UPSILON WITH HOOK SYMBOL > 0061 ; [.1FA2.0020.0002] # LATIN SMALL LETTER A > ... > 0251 ; [.1FB1.0020.0002] # LATIN SMALL LETTER ALPHA --- Notes: [1] L2/19-003, Suspicious identity of U+A9B5 JAVANESE VOWEL SIGN TOLONG (https://www.unicode.org/cgi-bin/GetMatchingDocs.pl?L2/19-003) [2] 158-A122 (http://www.unicode.org/cgi-bin/GetL2Ref.pl?158-A122): > Action Item for Liang Hai, Editorial Committee: Draft text clarifying the history and usage of U+A9B4 JAVANESE VOWEL SIGN TARUNG and U+A9B5 JAVANESE VOWEL SIGN TOLONG for the core spec, for Unicode version 13.0.
