4. Hotel Information, and Driving Tips:

(Kindly provided by Asmus Freytag)

The city of Seattle will be replacing part of the Fremont bridge, which is the big bridge over the ship canal right near the Adobe building. As a result, trying to get to Adobe from the Fremont bridge, whether by bus or by car will be impacted. There will be partial closures, and there may even be full closures of the bridge.

Bus routes 26 and 28 will use Aurora Ave which runs on the high bridge, which spans the canal on the other side of the Adobe campus. This would put the nearest bus stop 2-3 blocks away and on top of the hill.

Bus route 17 which passes by the south end of the bridge appears to be unaffected, it should remain a good commute from hotels on the SW end of Lake Union or downtown - if you are willing to walk across the bridge.

If people can get hotels north of the ship canal they would not need to cross the canal, but the number of nearby properties is limited. There are some hotels near the University http://www.gonorthwest.com/Washington/seattle/hotels-university.htm.
One of them is a very nice art-deco hotel University Tower Hotel perhaps a bit pricey. The University Inn has gotten good reviews from out-of-towners. They are all between 40th and 45th just east of I-5 about 2mi E of Adobe. Note that the Travelodge and Silver Cloud Inn on that list are on the far side of the University from Adobe. There's also a Ramada Inn near Northgate (about 3 miles north along I-5, and not listed here).

Closer to the center of Seattle, the closest hotel locations might be around the South End of Lake Union, (about 2mi S of Adobe) rather than downtown. There's a Courtyard on Westlake Ave, a Residence Inn on Fairview as well as a Silver Cloud.
