We've all been in the same set of circumstances. Thanks for sending me the complete information. I'll tell people the fee is $60. If it is less, I doubt that I'll get complaints. Concerning the room block for the beginning of the week, Some people from X3V1 are likely to supplement the X3L2 people staying over the weekend and Monday and Tuesday. They may include from X3V1 (3 to 7??) Steve Strassen (sp) Rudolf Reiss Barbara Beeton others? from X3L2 (5 to 7) Tim Greenwood Al Griffee Ed Hart Arnold Winkler + Dee Anne Gee (?) Microsoft (1) Don Carroll (?) Concerning the meeting room for Wednesday, X3L2's requirements depend on the activity on the character-glyph model. I would expect 8-12 people for the X3L2 meeting. Would it be reasonable to fit this number in a penthouse suite? If so, I could stay in a regular room and then switch to a penthouse suite for Tuesday and Wednesday. Perhaps, X3L2 can do most of its technical work and plenary on Tuesday and then finish work on the character-glyph model on Wednesday morning in a suite. My worry would be getting the local people back on Wednesday morning for a short time--it just might not happen and then I would be unable to get X3L2 endorsement of the updated draft. I'd sure hate to need to transmit an accelerated ballot to get the results for the SC2 Plenary at the end of June. (John and Arnold, how does this sound to you?) ---------- From: Steve Zilles To: Hart, Edwin F. Cc: szilles; riess Subject: Re: X3L2/X3V1 co-located meeting Date: Friday, 28 April, 1995 17:03 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I must apologize for the delay in replying to your request. I have been travelling and have had several work deadlines that have prevented me from being able to finish the agrangements for the X3V1 and X3L2 meetings. Only this afternoon have I been able to confirm the full set of arrangements. > Please send me meeting logistics information so that X3L2 can distribute it > in our next mailing. Basically, we need to know: > > o Location of the meeting room (if not in the hotel) and directions to get > there. The meetings will be at the Marriott Residence Inn, Silicon Valley II, 1080 Stewart Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94086 in the Bay Room. This Residence Inn is just off Route 101, take the Lawrence Expressway exit, turn right at the first Stop light (I believe this is Wright) and then left at the next corner onto Stewart. > > o Suggested hotel with its name, address, phone number, fax number, if > continental breakfast included, if free transportation to/from San Jose > airport, other amenities. The address of the hotel is above. The rooms are being held under "Adobe Systems" (with no reference to X3V1 or X3L2, sorry). The rooms are suites with a kitchenette included. The prices are 109 for studio suites and $129 for penthouse suites. The penthouse suites have the bed upstairs and a room that can be set up for meetings down stairs. The room price includes a contenental breakfast in the hotel lobby area. The phone number is (408) 720-8893 and the fax number is (408) 737-1803 There is a hotel pick-up at the San Jose airport, but not the San Francisco airport. (A Taxi from SFO would be expensive, so renting a car or taking an Airport limo such as South and East Bay Shuttle from SFO would be better.) > > o Any meeting fee that X3L2 participants would pay to X3V1. > The meeting fee will be either 50 or 60 dollars; exact figure not yet determined. I need some information from you as best you can provide it. I have only a small block of room for Sunday and Monday because you indicated that most L2 participants will be coming from the Bay Area and commuting. Could you give me a rough estimate of the number of people you expect to be staying at the Residence Inn on these nights. I also have a problem with meeting space on Wednesday. The obvious meeting room is needed by both V1 for its plenary and L2 for its meeting. Would you be willing to meet in a suite? How many will be at the meeting? ----------------------------------------------------------------- Stephen N. Zilles | e-mail: szilles@adobe.com Adobe Systems, Inc | P.O.
