Dear Dr. Lisa,
Mr. N. Ravi Shanker,
Additional Secretary, DIT is unable to attend the present UTC meeting
due to his other Official commitments.
The feedback from
Deptt of Information Technology, Govt. of India on various UTC agendas
are as follows:

Reference “D.2.1 Letters regarding Assamese [Haque, Phukan,
L2/11-388]” and “D.2.2 Assamese Writing
System in the Unicode [Friends of
The consultation
process on the issue of Assamese Writing system involves four state
governments namely

Reference “D.8.1 Proposal to Encode the Sign Anji for
Bengali [Pandey,
L2/11-359]” and “D.8.2 Request to Add
Annotations for Bengali ISSHAR to the Names List [Pandey,
L2/11-365]”
The consultation
process on the above subject is being initiated. Hence it is requested
that the decision on the above subject may be postponed for the next UTC
meeting.
3.
Telugu Length mark (U+0C55)
It is observed that
the decision on Telugu Length mark (U+0C55) is not posted on the present
UTC meeting agenda. The consultation with State govt. is on however
consensus is yet to be achieved. Hence any discussion on this may be
postponed for the next UTC meeting.
