Should be done in survey tool the next time it is open. Note that translators voted for keycap, so you'd have to make the case for changing.

When will survey be open next?
BTW knowing who were the voting translators would perhaps be helpful. Can they cite a French source using “keycap”? I saw many using “cabochon”, or simply “haut de touche”, never “keycap.”

  • Resolution set to fix-in-surveytool

The survey tool will open again for contribution some time in May 2018. See schedule on CLDR homepage:http://cldr.unicode.org/ (Milestones Schedule)

Once the tool opens, you can see who's contributing in French.

Information on how to contribute and setting up account is available on: http://cldr.unicode.org/index/survey-tool
