George Rhoten

George Rhoten, Internationalization Architect for Siri, Apple, Inc.

George Rhoten has been working on the software internationalization of Siri at Apple since 2012. He has worked on ICU and CLDR from 2000 to 2008 at IBM, and he has been primarily involved with software internationalization since then. He previously participated in the Unicode message format working group under the CLDR project. He continues to occasionally work on ICU and CLDR. He has given presentations and tutorials at previous Unicode conferences and at the local IMUG (International Multilingual User Group) in Santa Clara county.

George has a strong interest in software internationalization in both displayable and spoken forms. He has a strong knowledge in charset conversion, rule-based number format and interesting grammatical properties of various languages used around the world.
