We Need a New Message Resource Format

A byproduct of the work on MessageFormat 2 has been the identification of a number of requirements that are not fulfilled by any current resource format, including ICU Resource Bundles and Gettext .po files. These include:

Natural support for multi-line messages, which are common with MF2.
Explicit association of comments and metadata with specific entries and sections.
A vocabulary for message metadata fields.

This presentation will show some of the preliminary work done towards such a format, and solicit interest and participation in further work.
