In this session, we recommend specific data values that are likely to identify internationalization problems in software intended for global markets. Testing with typical value sets miss key problem types. Volume testing creates the incorrect impression that the software is robust.

Based on years of global software experience, these recommended data values are useful for functional and linguistic QA tests of internationalized software. Data value recommendations include character encoding, postal address, locale and other data types typically used in software and will trigger common internationalization problems.

We use real-world business values where possible and avoid exotic or contrived examples. Test failures are therefore significant for users.
