The iconv utility normally ships as standard, have you tried this?

Can anybody answer my following queries-->
1) What is the encoding scheme available on RS6000 (IBM AIX). For
Japanese messages is it only EUC-JP
2)Does RS6000 (IBM AIX) have some conversion functions for converting
different code-set(like EUC-JP to UTF-8 and JIS and vice versa) ?
like what SunOS , HP-UX and Windows-NT are having.
And if it has then from where i will get the detail information.
