Cyrillic inclusions and exclusions in Unicode 3.0 beta
ISO/IEC 10646-1:2000 and Unicode 3.0 beta seem to code only certain
letters in Kildin Sami, as listed in WG2 N1813:
048F;CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER ER WITH TICK
048E;CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER ER WITH TICK
048D;CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER SEMISOFT SIGN
048C;CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER SEMISOFT SIGN
04ED;CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER E WITH DIAERESIS
04EC;CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER E WITH DIAERESIS
However, the beta version of Unicode 3.0 excludes EL WITH DESCENDER;
SHORT I WITH DESCENDER; and EM WITH DESCENDER.
What happened? Is this OK? Can Kildin Sami manage without these
characters?
Also Cyrillic Q and W used in Kurdish (at least in times past)
are still not included.
When are these likely to be added? Any thoughts?
I look forward to any clarifications
Best regards
