RE: mapping tables

There are four files on
(ftp://ftp.unicode.org/Public/MAPPINGS/VENDORS/MICSFT/WINDOWS/) that need to
be updated slightly:

CP1255
        Change 0xCA 0x05BA #UNDEFINED
CP936
        Add 0x80 0x20AC #EURO SIGN
CP950
        Add 0xA3E1 0x20AC #EURO SIGN
CP949
        Add 0xA2E6 0x20AC #EURO SIGN
        Add 0xA2E7 0x00AE #REGISTERED SIGN

Mark Davis asked Chris Wendt:
1. As far as I recall, those pages -- while very nicely presented -- do not
completely reflect the actual software behavior on Windows. For example,
1258
lists 81 as undefined, while I believe that the Windows software actually
maps
it to 0081. Correct me if I am wrong, Chris.

Pls remember that Microsoft roundtrips 125x undefined codes in the 0x80 -
0x9F range (C1) by leaving them with their 125x values. So in particular,
the undefined code 0x81 on 1258 maps into 0x81 on 1258.

Thanks
Murray

Updating is strongly preferred!
