Small suggestion below, not sure if this has already been implemented or
is even worthwhile to pursue. If not, please ignore this.
When new members join the list perhaps the first introductory mail could
also provide a pointer to those links that that member might benefit
from reading first. One of such links might be the FAQ page.
The Unicode site has a humungous amount of information. The suggestion
above is only to allow such members a chance to see some basic
information upfront. I appreciate much the patience, and detailed
answers that many members provide. Even to those questions that seem to
be on similar lines to ones answered earlier but which turn up time and
again.

Of course. Or, perhaps, all my explanation couls simply be dropped and
substituted with a reference to that: all the basic facts are clearly
shown there too.
