devnagari presentation of certain ligature

    When i type त (U+0924) + ् (U+094D) + न (U+0928) = I get त्न

    त्न is not a popular form. where as popular form is त्‍न. (Atleast in Marathi).

    for example पत्‍नी. (which can be produced by using ZWJ)

    Why is this so? Can somebody elaborate more on this?
