I believe you *did* say that the stress must fall on the first breve. If that’s the case, there is no ambiguity wrt positioning of the mark.

Well, I should have said that in this case the stress must necessarily fall on the first breve. I'm not sure that it could ever fall on the second one. I'm checking.
